    Standard

TARKO HDPE borewell pipes replace traditional GI and MS riser pipes with a corrosion-free, lightweight alternative that lasts decades underground. Our PE100 grade pipes handle the high pressures of deep submersible pump installations while resisting the chemical aggression of groundwater.

Traditional GI (galvanized iron) riser pipes corrode within 5–10 years in aggressive groundwater, leading to pump failures, reduced flow, and expensive replacements that require pulling the submersible pump. HDPE borewell pipes eliminate this problem entirely — they cannot corrode, scale, or tuberculate, and their smooth bore maintains flow rates for decades.

TARKO manufactures HDPE borewell pipes from 50mm to 200mm OD in PN 10 to PN 16 pressure classes. For standard residential borewells (30–60m depth), 63mm PN 10 is the standard choice. For deeper agricultural and industrial borewells (60–150m), 90mm or 110mm in PN 12.5 or PN 16 provides the pressure rating needed for reliable long-term operation.

HDPE borewell pipes are also significantly lighter than GI pipes, making installation faster and cheaper. A single person can carry and lower HDPE pipe sections, and electrofusion or compression joints make connections watertight without threading or Teflon tape.

Why Choose TARKO Borewell HDPE Pipes?

Engineered for performance, certified for quality, priced for value.

    Zero Corrosion

Unlike GI pipes that rust in 5–10 years underground, HDPE is completely immune to corrosion from groundwater, soil chemicals, and bacterial action.

    High Pressure Rated

PN 10 to PN 16 pressure ratings for depths up to 150 meters. Handles pump start/stop water hammer without cracking.

    Lightweight Installation

HDPE is 8× lighter than GI — one person can handle pipe sections. Faster installation, lower labor cost.

    Smooth Bore = Better Flow

HDPE's smooth internal surface maintains flow rates over decades. No scaling or tuberculation that reduces flow in metal pipes.

    50+ Year Underground Life

PE100 HDPE pipe lasts 50+ years underground — far longer than GI (5–10 years) or MS (10–15 years) in typical groundwater conditions.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about Borewell HDPE Pipes

For residential borewells (30–60m) with 1–2 HP pumps, 63mm OD PE100 SDR 11 (PN 10) is standard. For agricultural borewells (60–100m) with 5–10 HP pumps, 90mm PN 12.5 is recommended. For industrial borewells (100–150m), use 110mm or 125mm PN 16.
Yes, significantly. HDPE doesn't corrode (GI rusts in 5–10 years), is 8× lighter (easier installation), has smooth bore (better flow), handles water hammer (GI cracks), and lasts 50+ years vs 5–10 years for GI. The initial cost is comparable, but HDPE's lifecycle cost is far lower.
At 100m depth, the static head alone is 10 bar. Add pump pressure and safety factor, and you need PN 12.5 (12.5 bar) or PN 16 (16 bar). TARKO recommends PN 16 for borewells deeper than 80m for long-term reliability.
Yes. HDPE pipes are used as borewell casing to prevent borehole collapse and protect the screen section. Use PN 6 or PN 8 for casing where the pipe doesn't bear pump pressure. For combined casing+riser applications, use the riser pipe's pressure rating throughout.
For sizes 63mm and above, electrofusion couplers provide the strongest joint. For smaller sizes, compression couplers work well. Butt fusion is used for larger diameter installations. TARKO supplies all compatible fittings.
